Straightforward, flat-fee quotes. No pressure.

What a custom website design and build includes

Hiring Standing Pine Media for a website means getting a site designed and built specifically for your business, not a stock template with your logo dropped in. Before any design work starts, we figure out what the site actually needs to do: generate leads, support customers you already have, sell a service, or simply give a business that does good work a website that looks like it. From there, we handle every part of the build ourselves, including design, site structure, custom coding, content setup, cross-device testing, and launch. You are not handed a theme demo and a login and left to figure out the rest. Every page is built around your services, your customers, and how people actually search for a business like yours.

How the flat-fee process works, start to finish

Every project starts with a scope and a price, not an hourly clock. Once we understand what you need, we put together one flat project fee that covers the entire design and build, and we agree on that number before any work begins. There is no hourly billing, no surprise invoices, and no “that was not in the original scope” conversation halfway through the project. The process itself runs in stages: a short discovery conversation to map out pages, goals, and content, a design phase so you can see and approve the direction before a line of code gets written, and a build phase on whichever stack fits your business. You review the working site, we make revisions, and once you sign off, we launch it. You know the total cost on day one, and that number does not move.

WordPress or Astro: built around how you run your business

Not every business needs the same kind of website, so we do not build every client on the same stack. If you need to manage your own content, adding blog posts, updating team members, editing pages, growing the site over time, we build on WordPress using a custom Astra child theme with hand-built PHP templates, hosted on Kinsta. That gives you a fast, stable site backed by a real content management system, one you can log into and update yourself instead of calling us for every small change. If your business does not need a CMS at all, which is common for lead-generation and marketing sites built mainly to get the phone to ring or the contact form filled out, we build on Astro instead. Astro sites are fully static: no database, nothing for a bad actor to break into, nothing running in the background to slow the site down. We will tell you honestly which one fits your business rather than defaulting to whichever is easier for us to build.

Why we do not build on page builders

We do not build new sites in Elementor, Bricks, Divi, or any other drag-and-drop page builder. Page builders load extra code your visitors never asked for, and that extra code slows a site down and makes it harder to maintain as plugins and themes update over time. Every custom build starts with clean, purpose-built code instead, whether that means a hand-coded child theme and templates on WordPress or a static Astro build with nothing extra to load. That means your site loads faster, is easier to keep secure, and does not pick up the kind of bloat that builder-based sites accumulate year after year. It is more work on our end. It is a better website for you, for as long as you own it.

You work directly with the person building your site

There is no account manager relaying your feedback to a developer you never talk to, and no outsourced team quietly working on your site behind a support ticket. You work directly with the person actually designing and building your website. When you have a question mid-project, you ask the person doing the work and get a straight answer, not a status update from someone repeating it secondhand. That direct line does not end at launch. It is the same relationship whether you move into an ongoing care plan afterward or handle updates yourself.

After your site launches

Most clients move into an optional monthly care plan once the site is live, covering hosting, updates, and content changes, so the site stays fast, secure, and current without you having to think about it. Many also add an SEO or digital marketing retainer to start turning that traffic into leads. Neither is required, and neither is bundled into the project fee. They are separate services, built for after your site is already up and working.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom website cost?

Every project gets one flat, all-in project fee for design and build, quoted before any work starts. There is no hourly billing and no add-on invoices once we agree on scope and price.

Will my site be built on WordPress or Astro?

It depends on your business. If you need to manage your own content, we build on WordPress using a custom Astra child theme with hand-built PHP templates, hosted on Kinsta. If you do not need a CMS, which is common for lead-generation and marketing sites, we build on Astro, a fully static platform with no database to maintain.

Do you build with Elementor, Divi, or other page builders?

No. We do not build new sites on page builders. Every custom build is hand-coded, either as a purpose-built child theme and templates on WordPress or a static Astro build, so the site stays fast instead of collecting page-builder bloat.

Who will I actually work with during the build?

You work directly with the person designing and building your site. There is no account manager and no outsourced team relaying your feedback. You ask a question and get an answer from the person doing the work.

What happens after my website launches?

Most clients move into an optional monthly care plan covering hosting, updates, and content changes, and many add an SEO or digital marketing retainer to start turning traffic into leads. Both are separate, optional services quoted apart from the build.
